Programmed primarily with Italian composers or those inspired by the colours and atmosphere of Italy, this concert features the vibraphone. Commissioned by the CBC for Dame Evelyn Glennie, Greek-Canadian composer Christos Hatzis's "Mirage?," a concerto for solo percussion and strings, will be played by his wife Beverley Johnston, a Canadian Music Centre Ambassador. There will be a pre-concert talk at 6:45 p.m. with conductor Michael Newnham.
