The Peterborough Symphony Orchestra's 2023-24 season concludes with a romantic musical voyage from Egypt to Vienna. Self-described as a rhythmic sea voyage, The Egyptian was Camille Saint-Saens' last piano concerto, which will be passionately played by Canadian pianist Sheng Cai. The second half of this concert features an undisputed masterpiece which established a new path for the Romantic Symphony: Brahms' Symphony No. 1. There will be a pre-concert talk at 6:45 p.m. with conductor Michael Newnham.
