A sequel to Trent Valley Archives Theatre's inaugural production "Tide of Hope" and commemorating the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the Peter Robinson settlers from Ireland to the Peterborough area in 1825, "Crossing Over" is a fictionalized account of the voyage of the emigrant transport ship John Barry. Set sail with the Hagertys, Nagles, Owens, Regans, Ryans, Slatterys, Sullivans, and Youngs on their perilous six-week journey across the Atlantic. This story of tremendous courage in the face of the unknown is narrated by John Keleher, an experienced seaman and Peter Robinson settler. Evening performances at 7:30 p.m. from May 29 to 31 with a 2 p.m. matinee performance on May 31 that includes reserved seating for members of the Peterborough Irish Club on their 50th anniversary. This production is a fundraiser for Trent Valley Archives.
