Jeff Bird presents Ordo Virtutum - Jeff Bird plays Hildegard von Bingen

Multi-instrumentalist Jeff Bird (Cowboy Junkies) celebrates the release of his new CD "Ordo Virtutum: Jeff Bird Plays Hildegard von Bingen, Volume 2". The melodies of his new arrangements for harmonica draw upon Hildegard's morality play "Ordo Virtutum", considered to be one of the earliest recorded musical dramas in western music. Bird's solo arrangements make use of harmonica, electric guitar and shruti box, an East Indian drone instrument. With breath as a rhythmic guide, each piece unfolds like deep sonic ocean swells creating a profoundly meditative experience.
