The annual event dedicated to ending sexual violence begins from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with a drop-in space featuring community agencies who support survivors sharing information about their services, including YWCA Peterborough-Haliburton, Elizabeth Fry Society of Peterborough, Peterborough AIDS Resource Network (PARN), Niijkiwendidaa Anishnaabekwewag Services Circle, Peterborough Community Legal Centre, and the Community Race Relations Committee. Poster- and sign-making supplies will be available for those who need them. From 6:30 to 8 p.m. the formal program of local poets, singers, and performers will take place, including local Indigenous drumming group Naandewegaan (Healing With Drums). The evening concludes with a candle-lit march through Peterborough's downtown core, with signs and rally cries calling for change.
