La Hacienda has been serving authentic Mexican food for over 10 years. Owner Sandra Arciniega is extremely proud of her Mexican heritage and is thrilled to share her own family recipes.
All of the food served is made fresh, from scratch, and using the freshest ingredients available.
The menu features the most popular dishes from all the regions in Mexico, offering diners a wide range of unique and distinct tastes. Enjoy the familiar flavours of quesadillas, fajitas, and enchiladas and snack on crispy corn tortillas with a variety of salsas and everyone’s favourite, guacamole.
Or, if you’re feeling a little adventurous, try something exciting and new such as Conchinta Pibil — a Yucatan recipe of succulent shredded pork loin wrapped in banana leaves, simmered in a delicious Mayan sauce made with orange juice, annatto seeds, cinnamon and other spices.
La Hacienda is located on Hunter Street in the heart of Peterborough’s restaurant district. It’s housed in an old building with lots of character and personifies the charm of Mexico.
Sip sangria on the side patio in the heat of the summer, or come inside during the cold winter months and enjoy a Café Borracho — Mexican coffee with Amaretto coffee liquor served in a sugar-cinnamon rimmed glass topped with whipped cream.
The chefs at La Hacienda have perfected their signature dishes. They are proud to offer vegetarian and gluten-free menu options.
La Hacienda salsas are available for purchase and come with recipes — so you can even enjoy a little corner of Mexico at home.
