The Peterborough Theatre Guild production of Born Yesterday won four awards at the Theatre Ontario Festival Awards Brunch in Oshawa on Sunday, May 17th.
Kellie McKenty won “Outstanding Performance by a Female”, first-time directors Pat Maitland and Ian Burns won “Outstanding Director(s)”, and the Guild won “Outstanding Co-ordinated Production”.
In addition, the crew of set movers for Born Yesterday (Simon Barker, Jack Burke, Peter Gulliver, Art Murray, Elgin Northey, Nelson Pickett, Tony Tasch, Ralph Tippett, Al Tye, and Larry Sidler) won “Adjudicator Award for Set Move in and Tear Down”.
The Peterborough Theatre Guild represented the Eastern Ontario Drama League (EODL), where they won the top prize (“Best Production”) for Born Yesterday at the EODL annual spring festival in April.
This year’s Theatre Ontario Festival took place from May 13th to 17th at Oshawa Little Theatre. The Guild presented Born Yesterday at the festival on Friday, May 15th.

As it enters its 50th year, the Peterborough Theatre Guild is holding a 50th Anniversary Reunion for past and present members and volunteers on Saturday, June 20th, 2015.
