Two people are dead following a head-on crash on Highway 62 south of Bancroft on Sunday afternoon (August 16).
At around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, Bancroft Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious two-vehicle collision on the highway.
The driver of one of the vehicles, a 41-year-old resident of Mount Bridges, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 46-year-old resident of Wollaston Lake, was transported to a local hospital where they were later pronounced dead.
Highway 62 was closed between Lower Turriff Road and Highway 620 in Limerick while police conducted an investigation and documented the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage, photographs, or video from the area and who has not yet spoken with police is asked to call the Bancroft OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
