United Way Peterborough & District has announced the 17 community leaders who will help guide its 2026-27 fundraising campaign as the organization celebrates 85 years of strengthening Peterborough and the surrounding county.
Led by chair Tiffany Arcari, the campaign cabinet includes volunteers from local businesses, health organizations, municipal governments, media, and more.
The campaign cabinet, which held its first meeting last Friday (August 21), will work together to lead the 2026-27 campaign under the theme “Certified Neighbours,” which celebrates the people who show up for one another and believe that everyone has a role to play in building a stronger community.
“I am incredibly grateful for this team of certified neighbours,” Arcari said in a media release. “Every person around that table said yes because they believe in our community, care about their neighbours, and want to help make our community stronger.”
When Arcari was announced as campaign chair in July, she described the United Way itself as a “certified neighbour” that has demonstrated what can happen when neighbours help neighbours. Arcari said she hopes the theme of the campaign will inspire a wider movement of people who notice when others need help, respond with kindness, and take action.
“I left our first cabinet meeting with a full heart,” she said. “There is something really special about sitting around a table with people who genuinely care about this community, who understand the challenges we face, and who are willing to step forward and say, ‘I am here, how can I help?'”

“Each member of this cabinet brings different ideas, skills and connections, but we are united by one ambition: to make our 85th anniversary campaign as strong and as impactful as possible. Together, we are ready to turn that shared energy into meaningful action for our neighbours and our community.”
The campaign cabinet will connect with workplaces, community members, and local leaders throughout the annual fundraising appeal.
The United Way will officially launch the “Certified Neighbours” campaign from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 17 at Healthy Planet Arena at 911 Monaghan Road in Peterborough, and all members of the community are invited to attend.
Presented by Miskin Law, the event will bring community and business leaders together for lunch and networking, along with the official unveiling of the 2026-27 campaign’s fundraising goal.
Tickets are now available for $30 at wl.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=E352237QE&id=71. Table sponsorships are available for $500, and donations can also be made to support the upcoming campaign.
With the 2026-27 campaign coinciding with United Way Peterborough & District’s 85th anniversary year, the organization will be recognizing the people, partnerships, and community spirit that have helped strengthen the city and county of Peterborough, while highlighting the work that remains to be done to address some of the most pressing challenges facing the community.
