Peterborough Veterinary Outreach is a volunteer-run initiative offered through One City Peterborough which provides a monthly cat and dog wellness clinic for people receiving social assistance. While the goal is to expand to offer supports to other pet owners facing barriers to accessing veterinary care, that is not currently viable as the organization is still seeing a large demand from the group currently being served and does not have the financial resources to expand. Co-founded by veterinarian Dr. Maggie Himann, the volunteer group provides monthly wellness clinics through One City Peterborough.
The Peterborough Symphony Orchestra's principal clarinetist Scott Wight will join principal violinist Jennifer Burford along with three of the orchestra's other principal string players to perform Mozart's clarinet quintet during "Mozart to the Moon" at All Saints' Anglican Church in Peterborough on March 7, 2025. The creator of the RedPath approach has planted the seeds for daughter Liz Shaughnessy-Rowe to continue her work.
Pictured with their two sons, Ashley and Joe Curry knew they wanted to include a donation to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) Foundation when making their estate plans. After considering the many different options, they decided to gift a life insurance policy. Over the course of 20 years, they will pay approximately $100,000 in premiums but, when the policy is paid out after they pass on, the PRHC Foundation will receive $1 million. Bancroft's A Place for the Arts is calling on local artists to help revitalize the mural on the west side of the 23 Bridge Street building.
