Photography: Raven Lunatic Tintype Photography presents 1850s Tintype Portrait Studio beginning at 10:00 am at Coboconk Community Centre (9 Grandy Road, Coboconk, K0M 1K0). Terry Thomas of Raven Lunatic Tintype Photography will set up his wet-plate studio, where visitors can watch a live demonstration of the wet-plate collodion process, then sit for a portrait of their own. Each plate is coated, exposed, and developed on site within minutes, producing a one-of-a-kind black-and-white image on metal, with no negative and no copy. Plates are then varnished, which needs time to dry, so finished portraits are usually mailed to sitters afterward. Most sitters take a photo of their plate before they leave. Watching is free. Anyone who sits agrees to purchase their portrait if they are happy with it. Ticket holders for Hystory Entertainment's "A Masque of Secrets" each evening will also have an opportunity to sit for a portrait at additional cost. Cost: $60 for a 4x5 inch plate and $90 for a 5x7 inch plate. For more information call 705-795-9179 or email ravenlunatictintype@gmail.com.
