Haliburton Kawartha Lakes Elder Abuse Prevention Network presents Power of Attorney for Property

Date:Tuesday, March 27, 2018
Time:10 - 11:30 a.m.
Location:    Adelaide Place Retirement Community (84 Adelaide St. S., Lindsay)
As we age it can be difficult to have conversations on topics that affect our health, safety and well-being. Join the new "Tea & Talk for Seniors" series that will provide you the opportunity to start the Conversation! Raeann Ridout from Elder Abuse Ontario and Shauna MacEachern, Seniors at Risk Coodinator will talk about Power of Attorney for Personal Care. This workshop will focus on two very important questions about Power of Attorney for Personal Care (POA-PC): "How do I choose the right person to be my Attorney for Personal Care" and "What are my rights, roles and responsibilities if I become an Attorney for Personal Care?" There are many things to consider before you ask someone to be your attorney, or before you agree to become an attorney. This event will cover the risks and benefits to the person granting a POA-PC and to the person taking on the responsibility.
