As we age it can be difficult to have conversations on topics that affect our health, safety and well-being. Join the "Tea & Talk for Seniors" series that will provide you the opportunity to start the Conversation! Join Sherri McKeen from the LHIN Home and Community Care and Maureen Greening from Housing Help Centre to discuss housing and care options for seniors. Today wait lists are a reality for many housing and care options and you need to know your options to plan ahead. Many seniors will require support or help with activities of daily living, but that can take many forms. OHIP funded care cannot meet the needs of many so you need to be aware of the financial implications as well. Some of the options that people might consider as they age will be covered. What are the risks and benefits of the options? How far ahead do you need to plan? Explore options for living at home with support, what type of home works best? What about assisted living, retirement homes and long term care?
