Hermione Rivison presents Wit and Whimsy

Date:Thursday, April 5, 2018
Time:7 p.m.
Location:    The Theatre on King (159 King Street, Suite 120, Peterborough)
Join Betty and Hermione for an evening of tales drawn from history and folklore. We begin with iconic Peterborough pioneers, Catherine Parr Traill and Susanna Moodie and their experiences in Canada, honouring them alongside this years World Storytelling theme “Wise Fools”. We speculate whether these two sisters made wise or foolish choices. After a brief intermission we turn to folklore and classic tales of wise fools such as ‘The Wise Men of Gotham’, and ‘Hoja Nasruddin’ and ‘The Fool of the World’. This presentation is made possible with the generous support of the Storytellers of Canada ~ Conteurs du Canada. NOTE: Rescheduled from March 15th.
