One of the most beloved family musicals of all time, "The Sound of Music" features music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. Inspired by the 1949 memoir "The Story of the Trapp Family Singers" by Maria Augusta von Trapp, the musical tells the story of a high-spirited young woman who leaves a convent to become the governess to the seven children of a widowed Austrian naval officer, bringing music back into their lives, under the shadow of the rise of Nazi Germany. Performances at 7:30 p.m. April 13 to 15 and 20 to 22, with matinee performances at 2 p.m. on April 15, 16, and 22.
