Connecting to nature can be a powerful way for us all to improve our physical and mental health. Peterborough medical officer of health Dr. Thomas Piggott, Creators Garden founder and director Joseph Pitawanakwat, and outdoor educator and Think Outside owner Nancy Thomson will offer perspectives, practical suggestions, and advice on the benefits of nature as a "prescription" for better health, what being in nature means and ways you can discover your path to experiencing nature more fully, and why we should think about getting outside as a way to boost our physical and mental health. Kawartha Land Trust will also share a preview of its Passport to Nature program and how you can participate in a year of in-person and online events, as well as a wealth of downloadable online resources created and shared by the Pathways Project aimed at connecting kids and families to the natural world around us. This event takes place on the Zoom video-conferencing platform.
