The Peterborough Symphony Orchestra will perform two of the most iconic romantic pieces: Dvorak's Symphony no. 8 steeped in Czech folk rhythms and yearning melodies, and Rachmaninov's Third Piano Concerto, a show-stopper of pianistic and orchestral fire-works made famous through the movie "Shine". The orchestra will be joined by one of Canada's foremost piano virtuosos David Jalbert. To open the concert, the orchestra will perform Andrew Balfour's "Pyotr's Dream", influenced by the music of Tchaikovsky. Meet the Masetro pre-concert talk at 6:45 p.m.
