The Municipality of Port Hope is inviting residents to learn more about the future of the municipally owned property located at 41 Young Street, recently remediated through the Port Hope Area Initiative, and to take part in the community engagement process. Council has identified the need to increase affordable housing options in Port Hope and has directed staff to explore whether this site could contribute to meeting that need. At the open house, staff will share information on why the site was selected for consideration, provide information on the purpose and benefits of affordable housing, and gather feedback on opportunities to retain parkland or park features on the site.
