Dr. Thomas Piggott, Medical Officer of Health and CEO of Lakelands Public Health will explore timely public health issues affecting communities across the region and provide practical insights for healthcare professionals working on the front lines of patient care. The session will focus on summertime public health concerns, including the health impacts of climate change, extreme heat, air quality, and other seasonal risks. Participants will gain evidence-informed information and strategies to support patient care and community health. The Public Health Grand Rounds series is certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Ontario Chapter, making the sessions eligible for continuing professional development credits for physicians or other healthcare professionals. This event takes place on the Zoom video-conferencing platform.
