Chefs describe breakfast as the most difficult meal to prepare. If that’s true, why offer it ‘All Day’?

“You’ve got to be a really good short order cook. It can be difficult because everything has to be perfect: the eggs have to be cooked just the way the customer wants; the bacon has to be crispy and the toast buttered, all at the same time for six people, sometimes more. It can be really hectic, that’s why you’ve got to be really organized.”

What is The Full Cup famous for?

“Everything we prepare is fresh and home-made. We source local fresh ingredients from the farmer’s market. For example, when in season – I would use fresh asparagus and havarti cheese in the omelettes we serve. Our coconut cream pie is made from scratch with fresh coconut milk and fresh grated coconut. I use fruits and vegetables that are in season in everything including the desserts.”

You seem to like Pink Flamingos. What’s that about?

“I’m a Florida girl, don’t ya know.”

The first time I came into the diner, it was a warm Spring-like day and all of the doors were all open and you were playing Los Lobos. What is your favourite music to listen to while you cook?

“I love Blues. And Los Lobos. And of course, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings.”

What do you love about what you do?

“Everything. When I decided to open a restaurant I knew I was going to spend the majority of my time there so I wanted it to feel like home, not a job. I made The Full Cup as cozy and warm as I possibly could – everything from the decor to the food to the music we play, speaks of home to me. For some people, coming to The Full Cup is the best part of their day. they might be seniors living on their own or widows or people who are just a bit down and lonely. I want people to come here and not only enjoy their meal, but know they are always welcome in my place.”

Are you a real red head?

“I am. I say what I believe. I’ve got a good heart and I’m as loyal as they come.”

What do you love about living in Bobcaygeon?

“The water. I love being close to it. I feel very fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
