On Wednesday July 17, many generous restaurants, pubs, and cafés in downtown Peterborough will “Paint the Town Red” in support of the United Way of Peterborough and District.

The event has been organized by Michael VanDerHerberg, co-owner of the Silver Bean Café with his wife Andrea.

“The United Way helps those in need in our community and draws the non-profit community together in a cohesive way, bringing us together to think strategically about our community,” Michael says. “For that, we are thankful.”

The generosity of these local restaurants could make a real impact for the 2013 campaign. Participating restaurants will give 25% of their net sales for the day to the United Way of Peterborough and District.

It’s all happening on Wednesday, July 17, so be sure to plan a breakfast, lunch or dinner out on that day. When you speak to the staff or owners of these restaurants, please thank them for their generous contribution to the United Way of Peterborough and District.

If you have any questions, you can get in touch with Michael VanDerHerberg at vanderherberg@gmail.com. You can also follow the United Way on Twitter @unitedwayptbo and use the hashtag #PaintTheTownRed to show your support.
