Summer’s almost gone, but the hot music keeps on coming.

There are many awesome shows coming up in September in Peterborough and the Kawarthas. Here’s a list of some that caught my eye.

There are more shows than this (make sure you also check our Pubs & Clubs and Concerts & Live Music columns) but this is a good place to start.

The Gertrudes at The Spill on September 7

Rootsy-rock darlings The Gertrudes are at The Spill (414 George St. N., Peterborough) on Saturday, September 7th at 9 p.m. The show will cost $10 at the door. This is an excellent group with great harmonies and a nice range of roots music.

If you like old-school metal like Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath, you’ll love this show! (Here’a a bit of trivia: Little Foot Long Foot’s tune “Kickface” is featured during the end credits of episode 6 of the Netflix original series Orange is the New Black).
