22-year-old Peterborough man dies after being rescued from Little Lake on Sunday

The man was located in the water at Beavermead Park and resuscitated, but died the following day in hospital

A 22-year-old Peterborough man has died after being rescued from Little Lake late Sunday afternoon (June 23).

At around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, police and first responders were called to Beavermead Park for a potential drowning incident.

Upon arriving, officers learned that three people had entered the water but only two got out.

The Peterborough Fire Services water rescue team subsequently located the missing man in the water.

Although he was resuscitated at the scene and taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre, he was pronounced dead at the hospital on Monday.

Police have not released the name of the victim.
