Frost advisory in effect for northern Kawarthas region overnight Monday

Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for much of the northern Kawarthas region for Monday overnight (September 2).

The frost advisory is in effect for northern Peterborough County, Haliburton County, and Hastings Highlands.

Ground temperatures are expected to drop to near zero degrees Celsius overnight Monday into early Tuesday morning.

Frost may damage some crops in frost-prone areas.

Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas.

Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.
