One person critically injured after two-vehicle collision north of Ennismore

One person was critically injured after a two-vehicle collision north of Ennismore in Selwyn Township late Friday afternoon (June 26).

At 4 p.m. on Friday, Peterborough County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency services responded to a report of a serious collision on Tara Road at Viner Line.

First responders arrived on the scene to find a pickup truck on the shoulder of Tara Road with significant front-end damage and an SUV on its side in the ditch.

Witnesses told police the northbound SUV made a turn in front of the southbound pickup truck, resulting in the collision.

Both the driver and the passenger of the SUV were transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre, with one later airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma hospital.

The occupants of the pickup truck were treated for minor injuries.

Tara Road was closed between Edenderry Ln. and Ennis Rd. for several hours while police documented the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate the collision.
