A new telemedicine clinic in Selwyn Township gives residents of Peterborough County another option for accessing primary healthcare closer to home.

The clinic at Ennismore Pharmacy offers OHIP-covered virtual consultations with licensed healthcare professionals for assessments, treatment, prescription services, referrals, and follow-up care.

Located at 470 Robinson Road in Ennismore, the clinic provides a private consultation space where patients can connect securely with healthcare providers, with pharmacy staff available to provide support.

The clinic officially opened on Friday (September 18) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Peterborough County warden Bonnie Clark, Selwyn Township mayor Sherry Senis, healthcare advocates, and local residents.

Warden Clark presented Ennismore Pharmacy owner and pharmacist Mehul Pathak with a certificate of recognition from Peterborough County marking the clinic’s opening.

“At Ennismore Pharmacy, we are committed to finding innovative ways to support the healthcare needs of our community,” Pathak said in a media release.

“The new telemedicine clinic provides convenient access to healthcare professionals and helps connect patients with the care they need, when they need it. We are proud to offer this service to local residents, visitors, and cottagers alike.”

The clinic is intended to provide another option for people who may not have timely access to a family doctor or nurse practitioner, particularly in a rural community where accessing in-person healthcare services can require travelling elsewhere.

“We are pleased to see local businesses continuing to invest in healthcare solutions that benefit residents across Peterborough County,” Clark said.

“This new telemedicine clinic adds another access point for primary care and demonstrates how community partnerships can help address healthcare challenges while improving access to services closer to home.”
