Anyone hoping to solve Globus Theatre’s latest holiday murder mystery will have to act quickly, with tickets only available for the November 26 performance of A Hula Holiday Homicide.

Five of six performances are already sold out of the original interactive dinner theatre experience, which runs at 6:30 p.m. from November 19 to 21 and November 26 to 29 at 2300 Pigeon Lake Road in Bobcaygeon.

A Hula Holiday Homicide continues a popular holiday tradition that Globus Theatre has been presenting for more than two decades, combining an original murder mystery with a festive dinner and audience participation.

This year’s mystery trades snowbanks for sand as guests arrive at fictional Surfside Beach, where travellers have escaped winter for a tropical Christmas complete with mulled rum, Santa hats, and flip-flops. The holiday getaway takes a darker turn when someone on the guest list goes from naughty to homicidal, leaving audience members to help determine who committed the crime.

While the cast performs around them, diners are encouraged to watch for clues, question the suspects, and work together to crack the case. The show is accompanied by a buffet-style turkey dinner with all the traditional fixings prepared in-house at Globus Theatre.

This year’s cast includes Kerry Griffin, whose screen credits include Schitt’s Creek, Murdoch Mysteries, and Designated Survivor; Barb Scheffler, whose stage credits include Menopause the Musical, The Beaver Club, and Globus Theatre’s Little Balls Falls Christmas Fete-ality; Chris Gibbs, who has performed with Just for Laughs and appeared in Disney’s The BFG; and Leslie Seiler, a Second City Toronto alumna and member of Girls Nite Out.
