Haliburton Forest’s beloved resident moose Hershe has passed away

A favourite among visitors, the eight-year-old bull moose came to the wildlife preserve after his mother was killed in a vehicle collision.
Award-winning Canadian author Michael Ondaatje will be talking about his latest novel "Warlight" with editor and publishing executive Louise Dennys on Saturday, July 13th at the 2019 Lakefield Literary Festival. While the talk is already sold out, tickets are still available for other author readings and writing workshops at the 25th annual festival. There are also a number of free events.
