The 20th annual ReFrame Film Festival kicks off on January 25, 2024 at Showplace Performance Centre in downtown Peterborough with an exclusive screening of the award-winning film "Boil Alert" directed by James Burns and Stevie Salas. The film profiles artist and activist Layla Staats as she investigates and campaigns around issues of unsafe and unclean water supply in Indigenous communities in both Canada and the United States. A performer and filmmaker who is now writing a play, Murphy shares her experiences from adding creative spark to saying yes to opportunity.
Rachel Charlebois is an Apsley-based metal artist with more than 57,000 Instagram followers from around the world. Having combined her love of art with her experience in welding, she creates custom furniture, signs, and artwork by hand using a plasma cutter.
