Film & Discussion: The Canadian Canoe Museum presents Speaker Series - "Brotherhood" (2019) Screening and Q&A beginning at 7:30 pm at Canadian Canoe Museum (2077 Ashburnham Dr., Peterborough, K9L 1P8). To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Balsam Lake tragedy, Speaker Series presents a special screening of the 2019 film "Brotherhood." Inspired by the real-life events of 1926, the film tells the story of a group of teenage boys who arrive at Long Point Camp for the adventure of their lives. When their canoe capsizes in a sudden summer storm, their holiday descends into a harrowing fight for survival. Following the screening, writer and director Richard Bell and several members of the cast will take part in a Q&A exploring the real-life tragedy that inspired the film and the process of bringing it to the screen. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with drinks and light refreshments available before the screening. Cost: $15 (10% off for Canadian Canoe Museum members).
