After a sold-out performance at Market Hall in November, New Stages presents a workshop presentation of "Footnote to Freedom", a musical play written and performed by brothers Beau and Lance Dixon about their grandfather, Private George Dixon, a cornet player in the No. 2 Battalion in the first World War. The No. 2 was the first and only Black Battalion in Canadian military history, but its existence was ignored and forgotten for decades. Bring whatever you need to enjoy the performance comfortably (chairs, cushions, and blankets). Refreshments are available on-site for purchase. In the event of inclement weather, performances will be moved indoors to Scott House Room 105 at Traill College.
