Green waste

The Easter weekend will be a good time for Peterborough residents to clean up their yards as green waste collection begins on Tuesday, April 3rd.

Leaf and yard waste may be placed at the curb every week for collection on your regular collection day.

Green waste must be in paper yard waste bags, bushel baskets, or a garbage bin labeled with the City of Peterborough “Green Waste” stickers. Plastic bags will not be accepted.

Green waste stickers are free and are available at City Hall, GreenUP, and local Home Hardware stores (Merritt on Lansdowne and Kingan on Simcoe).

There are no quantity limits on the amount of green waste you can put out for collection.

Weekly green waste collection will continue through until the last week of November.
