First positive case of COVID-19 in the Peterborough area

Man in his 30s who had travelled to Spain and Portugal was seen at Peterborough Regional Health Centre after developing symptoms.
Peterborough resident Kayti Emery created the "Peterborough Shares" Facebook group on March 13, 2020 as a place where people in the area can post things they need and offer things to share during the COVID-19 pandemic. The group already has more than 3,800 members, with many people looking for essentials such as toilet paper. Woman in her 60s who travelled to Germany was seen at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay after developing symptoms.
The new COVID-19 Assessment Centre at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg is located in the Ambulatory Care Clinic area of the hospital at 1000 DePalma Drive, immediately inside the main front entrance. The centre is intended for those who are displaying mild symptoms associated with COVID-19 and who have either returned from international travel or who have had contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
