Heritage: Trent Valley Archives presents "Mainstreet Music: Downtown Peterborough's Iconic Music Venues" beginning at 7:00 pm in Peterborough. Led by music enthusiast and knowledgeable tour guide Maddie More, this tour covers downtown Peterborough music venues, both past and present, and the impact they made on the community. Focusing on the latter half of the 20th century, the tour visits the sites of iconic music venues such as: the Brock Arena, home to Hank Williams history; the King George Hotel where Tom Connors took on the moniker "Stompin' Tom"; and the Spill, where Peterborough's alternative music scene was kept alive well into the 21st century. You'll also discover forgotten music venues, remembered only by those few who found a sense of belonging within their walls. Tours take place on August 7 and 21. A 19+ event as drinking may be involved. Cost: $20. For more information and tickets, visit https://trentvalleyarchives.com/events/.
