In the Capitol Theatre's Creators' Unit, participating artists work alongside artistic director Rob Kempson to develop their projects over the course of a year through readings, dramaturgy, and peer-to-peer conversation, culminating in the annual Playreading Week. "Bette Davis Was Right" by Andrea Scott tells the story of an unlikely friendship that forms between a younger woman, Emily, and a bookstore café owner, Bea, in a fictional cottage country town. As two different generations bond over feeling misunderstood, they ultimately transform each other's lives. Cost: Free.
