Home to Muddy’s Pit BBQ, Keene is already known as a hotspot for barbeque in our region. On Saturday, July 20th, a BBQ competition, live music, and a road hockey tournament collide — making for a great way to celebrate everyone’s favourite summer cuisine.
The event runs all day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the grounds of the Keene Arena (24 Fourth St.). It’s a community fundraiser for the Keene Pumpkin Festival.
Music will be provided by five excellent bands including Bradley Boy’s new garage/blues/rock project Derby Melvin, Mayhemingways, Mississippi Grover, No Pussy Footing, and the always awesome Micronite Filters.
The Amateur BBQ Competition should prove to be tasty and fun, as men and women from Peterborough and area face-off for prizes and the glory of BBQ.
Muddy’s will be slinging pulled pork sandwiches all day and the Publican House Brewery will be on site to quench your thirst.
Summer is short, so head out to Keene on July 20th and enjoy the music, cooking, road hockey and the beautiful setting.
