Festival: Buckhorn Community Centre presents Buckhorn Festival of the Arts beginning at 10:00 am at Buckhorn Community Centre (1782 Lakehurst Rd., Buckhorn, K0M 1J0). The Buckhorn Festival of the Arts brings professional world-renowned artists from across Canada to the park-like setting of the Buckhorn Community Centre. This event originated as the first fundraising event in 1978 to help pay for the mortgage on the original buildings and land. Today, the show is known as one of the country’s premier events. Not only does the show feature professional artists, but there’s also an Amateur Art Competition, Art Activity Zone, exhibit of youth art, and live music. As well, an annual Special Exhibit is curated by a committee of artists to bring something unique to each year’s event. Festival hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday.
