Art Gallery of Peterborough moving back to Crescent Street

Staff at the Art Gallery of Peterborough earlier this year, preparing for the move to the gallery's temporary location at 420 George Street North in downtown Peterborough. The gallery will be reopening at its upgraded facility at 250 Crescent Street on Saturday, August 8.

This is the final weekend that the Art Gallery of Peterborough will be located at its temporary home at 420 George Street North in downtown Peterborough.

The gallery will then close to the public from Monday, July 20th to Friday, August 7th, to prepare for the reopening at its permanent location at 250 Crescent Street.

On Wednesday, July 15th, Steve Hancock of St. Veronus Cafe and Tap Room will be the guest chef at the Peterborough Downtown Farmers’ Market.

Hancock, who was the champion of the market’s first annual Iron Chef Challenge in 2013, will be bringing some inspirational ideas on how to use local ingredients in your own cooking.

Ontario’s acting Environmental Commissioner, Ellen Schwartzel, released her annual report on the topic, offering praise for the provincial government, but also a harsh warning — further action must be taken or the province won’t meet its carbon reduction target by the 2020 deadline.
