New Stages celebrates Peterborough Pride with award-winning play ‘Torch Song’ on September 15

'Music of the 70's' fundraiser for Showplace running from September 20 to 22 features 11 local performers singing 36 of the era's most popular hits.
"Repatriation to the Moon", the debut play from Peterborough's newest theatre company Grassboots Theatre, will be performed by company founders Chris Whidden and Peyton Le Barr, who recently relocated from Toronto to Peterborough County. The play runs for four performances from August 14 to 17, 2019 at Artspace in downtown Peterborough. 4th Line Theatre’s ‘Carmel’ explores the bonds of community and family during troubled times

Third in Barnardo series of plays by Robert Winslow and Ian McLachlan runs at Winslow Farm in Millbrook until August 31.
"Surfacing" is an original film from Frank Flynn, Rachel Bemrose, and Blake Richardson which, through spoken word and original music and choreography, tells the story of the mental illness of Flynn's wife Angela, her eventual suicide, and the impact on Flynn and their two daughters as they grieve and evenutally begin to heal. Frank Flynn’s ‘Surfacing’ uses dance to explore themes of mental illness and suicide

Based on real-life family tragedy, short film that premiered at ReFrame Film Festival in 2017 now available for online viewing.
Performance and spoken word artist Wes Ryan will stage "Turtle" on the fire escape behind The Only Cafe in downtown Peterborough for three 10-minute performances on July 27 and 28, 2019. The pop-up performances, which also features music by Fire Flower Revue and photography by Jessica Lynn Scott, explore themes of safety, disability, and accessibility, along with pushing personal boundaries and being in places you are not expected -- like a turtle crossing the highway.
