While still in university, I had a bad experience with a roommate and found myself with an empty room and a landlord looking for money. With limited cash, I wound up at the newspaper office to place a classified ad. Within hours of the paper hitting the streets, my phone began to ring with potential roommates.
Theatre entrepreneur Dane Shumak nearing the top of his game
Local performer Dane Shumak has become one of the most ambitious individuals in Peterborough’s theatre landscape.
Having just come off of Art for Awareness’ successful production of Rent, where he played the role of Tom Collins, in the last year Dane has directed three shows (Spring Awakening, The Last Five Years and The Pillowman), produced two successful concerts, played the key role of Bill Skykes in the Peterborough Theatre Guild’s production of Oliver, and started his own theatrical company, Cordwainer Productions.

Taking small steps to protect our water
We’re all tired of the cold. Records have been falling daily as wave after wave of arctic air drains south. We’re not the only ones suffering, however. Locations as far south as the Florida Keys have been bundling up against the cold temperatures.
